WORKS FROM LATE 2008 / EARLY 2009 These works were created following my Europe trip in Oct 2008. They are part of my Vintage Voyage series, inspired by a journey on the Orient Express, experiencing exhibitions and performances in Italy that brought to life periods from long ago like Baroque and Renaissance, and being charmed by the blend of ancient and modern in Mallorca. These pieces use a variety of techniques, both learnt and experimentational, and use texture, oils, acrylics, woodstains and embellishments. I have also used my own photographs, and snippets of newspaper and other treasures from my travels. A mix of abstract, but with a sure hint of realism and memories.
